NZ tour to India: Senior players likely to be rested for T20I series

Xtra Time Web Desk: In a bid to give rest from bubble fatigue, few senior Indian cricketers will be given rest for the forthcoming T20 series against New Zealand which will immediately follow after the conclusion of T20 World Cup. The BlackCaps are set to play three T20 matches on November 17, 19 and 21 respectively in Jaipur, Ranchi and Kolkata respectively

Kane Williamson’s team will also play two test matches in Kanpur and Mumbai.

Some of the key Indian players have been in the bubble environment since the start of the World Test Championship final in June. It is understood that the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami, and few others will be given a break.

With the senior cricketers given rest, it will open up the opportunities for youngsters who have done well in IPL 2021. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Avesh Khan, Venkatesh Iyer, Harshal Patel, and a few others who have impressed in the IPL 2021 might get a nod for the Indian T20 team.
