Xtra Time Web Desk : Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday clinched a narrow 3 run victory over five time champions Mumbai Indians in the 65th match of the Indian Premier League 2022 to keep their hopes alive for making it to the playoffs this season.

Being put into bat first, the Sunrisers put up a huge total of 193 on the board, courtesy of a 44 ball 76 from the blade of Rahul Tripathi, well accompanied by Priyam Garg (42) & Nicholas Pooran (38).

Coming in to bat second, Mumbai Indians' openers in Rohit Sharma (48) and Ishan Kishan (43) played well to give their team a good start to the chase, which then lost the momentum due to falling of quick wickets in succession before Tim David (46) gave the Mumbai fans hope, ultimately falling 3 runs short.

And in the post match presentation ceremony, winning skipper Kane Williamson reflected on his side's much needed win and said, "Nice to break the streak. But also nice to win the wrestle. Had a few games where momentum wasn't on our side and we couldn't wrestle it back. All in all a very good performance and a lot of learning to come out of it. He's (Tripathi) a seriously special player, he comes out and takes the momentum away. Have seen a number of times in this competition. He always bowls quick, which is obviously a strength and weapon for our side. Got an amazing skill set which if he can channel, he can turn a match as we saw. Priyam is a seriously talented cricketer, great that he could get the opportunity today, he's one of those players we're going to see a lot more of, got a really good head on his shoulders, a lot of potential but a lot of skill as well. Our death bowling has been a strength of ours and Bhuvi's one of the top death bowlers of the tournament. His contribution today and to bowl a maiden is an amazing contribution and match winning moment really."
