ICC Champions Trophy 2025: What is the qualification scenario for Pakistan after their loss to New Zealand?
Xtra Time Web Desk: After suffering a major blow, Pakistan made their road difficult to the semi-final of the Champions Trophy 2025 losing to New Zealand by 60 runs on Wednesday, February 19 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
Team Pakistan led by Mohammad Rizwan is now at the bottom of the table in Group A with a net run rate of -1.200 hence the question is how will Pakistan qualify for semi finals?

Right now, Pakistan need to win both their remaining matches in the group stage if wants to qualify for semis. If they lose even one of their next two matches, Pakistan will need a lot of combinations to go in their favour for a place in the last four. Even if Pakistan win their other matches, they are not guaranteed to qualify for the semis as net run rate could come into the picture.
Pakistan just not only need to improve their performance in match but also need to improve their net run rate, which took a hammering after their defeat to the Black Caps.

Pakistan will be back in action in the next match against arch-rivals India on Sunday, February 23 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. They will face Bangladesh in their final league game in Rawalpindi on February 27. Both will difficult for Pakistan. All eyes will be on the team how they manage keeping their hope alive.
