Shamrock Rovers edged past TSV 1860 Munchen 3-2 in Nagjee Trophy .

Internet Desk : Shamrock Rovers made a stunning comeback as they defeated TSV 1860 Munchen 3-2 at the Kozhikode EMS corporation Stadium in the Sait Nagjee International football tournament.

TSV 1860 started the game with an attacking intent. As a result of which  they drew the first blood. David Webster was fouled by Simon Seferings inside the penalty box in the 14th minutes. The referee did not hesitate in awarding a spot kick to the German side . Captain Kokocinski steps up and beautifully chipped the penalty over the keeper to give the lead to Munchen .

Conceding the goal Shamrock Rovers upped the tempo as they were desperate to equalize. The Irish side were awarded a penalty in the 32nd  minute and Kokocinski’s Irish counterpart McCabe scored from the penalty spot to make it 1-1.

TSV 1860 Munchen have some gilt-edged chances but the Irish goalkeeper denied them with some outstanding saves. However the German side were again awarded  a penalty  and the captain again came forward and scored sending the goalkeeper wrong footed . It was all TSV in the first half. Captain Kokocinski tried to test the German custodian with a long ranger but he stood tall to thwart the danger. Danny North leveled the scoreline with a powerful volley to the top corner although it seemed he was in a offside position at the time of scoring.

Just after the interval Shamrock Rovers took the lead. McCabe send in a delightful cross and Gavin Brennan headed home to make it 3-2. TSV were shell shocked as their defense was left stranded.

TSV 1860 continued to put pressure in search of an equalizer but some stable defending from the Irish defenders  denied them from scoring. Shamrock could have scored the fourth goal but an excellent save from TSV custodian Fritz sent it for a corner. Gareth McCaffrey made some solid runs through the flanks but due to some poor finishing they couldn’t able to extend their lead. Shamrock  registered their first win of the tournament
