Xtra Time Web Desk: Kolkata’s Joba Racing Team hogged limelight in their maiden appearance in MRF National Car Racing Championship 2020 as they came tantalizingly close to a podium finish. The team led by city racer Tunna Mukherjee secured fourth place in Formula 3 category.

After a nine-month break, the MRF MMSC fmsci Indian National Car Racing Championship 2020 resumed in a bio-bubble at the MMRT circuit here on Saturday and behind closed doors necessitated by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The strict enforcement of government mandated SOPs would mean absence of spectators, guests and the Media with the entry restricted to competitors with a maximum of two helpers each and officials.

Kolkata Joba Racing Team owner John Mukherjee was quite excited with the results in their maiden appearance while his son Tunna sounded confident of putting up an even better show in the races to come.

According to John Mukherjee, “It has been a dream start to the season, to come fourth in the first leg in Chennai. We would like to carry forward this momentum throughout the season. We have put in our best efforts and results are for everyone to see.”

“I’m extremely satisfied the way we finished the race in Chennai. We would have hoped for a podium finish but unfortunately there was a technical problem with the car. We hope to come good in the upcoming races,” said Tunna Mukherjee.
