Internet Desk: After defeating Bengaluru FC the day before in an AFC Cup match, Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen believes that the upcoming game in the Fed Cup would be entirely different.
Mohun Bagan thrashed the Blues 3-1 in their last home game of the AFC Cup. Both the teams however had rested their key players yet the Kolkata side managed to get the better off the visitors.
The two teams meet again at the finals of the Fed Cup 2017 on 21st of May at Cuttack.
“The final match of the Fed Cup will be a tough match. It will be different from the game that we played the previous day. We will have to play well, as it is a very important game for us” said Sen.
Bengaluru FC will be without star player Sunil Chettri, who is absent due to injury but the Mariners coach is quite confident on his team.
“ The last time Sunil played in the game, we defeated them 2-0, so it’s not a big concern for us” said the Bagan coach.
The coach also added that “If Mohun Bagan doesn’t win the finals then it will not be the end of everything. Mountains won’t fall or rivers won’t dry as Mohun bagan will continue with it’s own pace. If we don’t win anything we will have to try in the next season” said Sanjoy Sen.
On being asked about which departments needed to be improved, Sen said that all departments must be improved from Goalkeeper to Forwards.
“All the players came to attend my 70th Birthday but I never wished for any presents from them, but now I wish my players present me by winning the Fed Cup” said club president Swapan Sadhan Bose.
“As of now we have held no talks with Tata group. They want to participate in the ISL but are interested in picking team from Ranchi” said Bose.
When asked about having talks with East Bengal in matters concerning with ISL bid, he refused to comment on the matter and said he would only speak on 22nd May.
Bose also assured that the payments of the players are ready and they will be paid soon.
