Kolkata: City giants Mohun Bagan look all set to start their season as they are to practice session from July 12 for the upcoming Calcutta Football League (CFL).

Shankarlal Chakraborty is to become the head coach for the CFL while Arpan Dey is to become the Assistant coach. Sanjoy Sen to remain as the mentor.

Mohun Bagan’s financial secretary Debasish Dutta said “We are hiring a physical trainer as we have a physio.”

In place of Garcia, Bagan has hired Samiran Nag as their physical trainer.

The Green and Maroon brigade will be recruiting players for the whole season but will also seek for new faces in the Kolkata league.

“After the likes of greats like Amit Das, Debjit Ghosh there has been a great buzz among Bengali players like Pronay Halder, Pritam Kotal, Debjit Majumder, Prabir Das. I personally feel it’s a success for the club. A lot of teams are pursuing them and it’s a success for the club” said Dutta.

Mohun Bagan is also set to bring their best team for the league in which they are to compete.“We will form the best team as per the tournament. There will be the best team for CFL and then there will be a best team for the I-League. Among the three foreigners, Kingsley will come a bit later.”

“We are to get a sponsor very soon. But the money which we will receive won’t be enough so we would need a co-sponsor. If a team can become champions by spending 2 Crs and 40 lakhs then there is no use of spending 15crs. We will be getting the sponsor for the Kolkata league only” said Dutta.

According to the sources the Green and Maroon will get 4 crore rupees from their new sponsor.

“We want Tutu da but not his money. Among the members of the technical committee Compton da is missing as he is currently in Delhi for personal reasons. Along with Shankarlal the other committee members had a discussion for the upcoming preparations” said the financial secretary.

“This time the budget of the team is reduced. It is too early to comment about Sony Norde’s condition. We have asked the IFA to give us the match timings at 6-7PM and have asked our chief minister to increase the lighting conditions. Though we would be playing at YBK we also want to play few matches in our home ground. We would be signing 30 players for the CFL” concluded Dutta.
