Mohun Bagan signed Afghan defender Haroon Amiri for CFL

Xtra Time[/caption] Kolkata: Federation Cup champions Mohun Bagan have signed Haroon Amiri as they look to strengthen their squad for the ongoing Calcutta Football Legue (CFL). Amiri underwent his physical fitness under the watchful eyes of Mohun Bagan Physical Trainer Mr. Djair De Miranda Garcia on 15th August 2016. Today he had a full training session under Head Coach Mr. Shankarlal Chakraborty. The Afghan born shot stopper had earned his name in Indian football by displaying his skills in I-League for Mumbai FC when he joined them in 2011. He went to win the FPAI Fan's Player of the year award for his superb performance in 2012-13 I-League season. He also played for Dempo SC in 2014-15 season and during his time with Dempo he was loan to ISL Franchise Team FC Goa where had an opportunity to train under Brazillian Legend Zico. Last season Amiri was part of DSK Shivajians the newly promoted I-League team and had a decent season. Mohun Bagan have played three matches so far and have been victorious in each. Their next game is against Bhowanipore SC on 18th August, 2016. Amiri will apply for his registration in favour of Mohun Bagan at the Indian Football Association (WB) office tomorrow, 17th August 2016 at 2:00 pm.
