Kolkata: Will Sanjoy Sen be handed a ban by the AIFF? or he will get away only by giving a fine?On 3rd March AIFF disclipinary Committee will take the final decision on Sanjoy Sen.Today at the East Bengal ground AIFF secretary Kushal Das has made it clear.
Sanjoy Sen was issued a show cause notice by AIFF after he called AIFF “SOLD OUT”. Sanjoy Sen was furious for not postponing the match between DSK Shivajians and Mohun Bagan as they had to catch a late night flight to China to play their ACL Qualifying playoffs. Mohun Bagan eventually lost the match 6-0.
According to AIFF constitution,If anyone made any derogatory comment about federation the highest punishment they could face is either a fine of Rs 50000 or 8 match suspension. It seems that a fine is unavoidable although Sanjoy Sen had apologized for his remarks on the federation. It will be interesting to see whether the Green and Maroon gaffer is also handed a suspension.
On the Other side Mohun Bagan will fly away to Guwahati to play their AFC Cup home match against Maziya Sports and Recreation Club of Maldives. Maziya is right now fourth in the Dhivehi League (Maldivian Soccer league). Mohun Bagan is scheduled to face Maziya on 24th February. Mohun Bagan has to play their home match at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium as Saltlake Stadium is being renovated for the U-17 World Cup. When the reporters were talking to Sony Norde Sanjoy Sen storms out of the club and went towards the home.
Meanwhile Sony Norde will be unavailable in the return leg derby on 2nd April. On 30th March Haiti is scheduled to play their qualifying match of Copa America. After playing the Sony will be returning back on 1st April Now the question is will he be able to play in the derby after travelling a long journey by plan, Mohun Bagan assistant secretary Srinjoy Bose said.” We are looking into this matter”. Sony is very excited to play against Neymar. Brazil and Haiti has been clubbed into the same group. Srinjoy Bose has also assured the players to pay their remaining dues.
