Kolkata: Indian pacer Md. Shami was apparently threatened by some strangers when the Indian pacer accompanied by his wife was returning to their house a couple of days back after attending a family function. The stranger who apparently threatened the Indian player was arrested today by the Jadavpur police.
Shami who resides near South City found a couple of cars parked in front of his house and as a result faced problems in entering his house. A biker which was apparently behind their car got heated up and approached the Indian International and started abusing him.
“We were returning to our home at around 11pm on Saturday when we found 3 big cars parked in our entrance. Shami couldn’t turn his turn to the parking lot on account of less space on the side of the road. A biker who was behind our car approached us and started abusing us with extreme vulgar words. Shami got out of his car and asked the man to pass by as there was enough space for a bike and an auto to pass by. However the man didn’t listen to any of this and started abusing the caretaker of the building” said Hasin Jahan the wife of Md. Shami.
When Shami and his family was about to enter their house, the man again approached them and threatened the Indian pacer for his life before cursing them with foul words.
“Hardly 10 minutes has passed when we reached our home, we found out that the man now arriving with 2 other men started beating up their caretaker and then started banging on the door of our flat. Previously we had ignored the matter but this time I rang of the Jadavpur Police Station. The trio however left before the cops arrived but the entire scene was recorded in the CCTV camera installed in the building. The police examined the video and then arrested the trio” concluded Hasin.
