XtraTime Web Desk – After successfully qualifying for I-League, Mohammedan Sporting is looking to bag their maiden I-League trophy.

Jose Hevia, their coach made this crystal clear on day one as the Spaniard said, “We are starting with a clear mindset and that is to win the Hero I-League. Our preparations have gone very well. This match will serve to see the implementation of the pre-season preparations”.

Mohammedan Sporting will face Sudeva FC Delhi in their first match of the season. Sudeva FC will make their debut in the league. About their first match, Havia said, “The first game is key. We need to have a positive start. The first match is always very important because it will give us confidence to head into the rest of the league. We will approach the game with all the seriousness it deserves”.

Jamal Bhuyan, Mohammedan’s newest recruit is no less than a star in Bangladesh. Speaking about their goal for the tournament, Jamal said, “We are a team and we share a common goal. We know our responsibility is to win and bring glory to the club. We had a good time in our preparations. We have a strong squad of humble and dedicated players. We have mixed well and are all ready for tomorrow”.

He added, “We need to focus on the duties our coach give us, either in attacking or defending situations. We have to work together. If we are able to do this according to our plan, we can get a positive result. The first and foremost thing is to improve as a team and as an individual. Results of a match always matter but we must focus on our performance primarily”.

When Jose Hevia was asked if he has any information about their opponents or not his answer was a straightforward no. However, he later explained: “Since it’s the first match of the season both teams haven’t been exposed that much. It’s not just that we don’t have information about them, it applies to Sudeva as well”.
