Internet Desk: Virat Kohli on Saturday became the first international captain to score three successive hundreds in a three match test series. The Indian captain remained not out on 156* (186 balls) that included 16 boundaries. In reaching his 52nd hundred in International Cricket,  Kohli eclipsed quite a few milestones.

The Indian captain scored his first test hundred in his home-ground Feroz Shah Kotla. His previous best was 88 against South Africa in 2015.

Kohli also became the first captain to score consecutive hundreds in all the three test matches. He scored 104* (Kolkata), 213 (Nagpur) and 156* in this test match.

The Delhi batsman also completed the milestone of 5000 runs in test cricket.

Kohli now has 11 international hundreds in a season 2017-18 which is one less than Sachin Tendulkar’s 12.
It was Kohli’s 20th test ton in 63rd test match. His century off 110 balls and the half-century off 52 balls were his individual fastest landmarks in this format.

The 5000 runs came in 105th innings, which is the fourth fastest among the Indian batsmen after Sunil Gavaskar (95 innings), Virender Sehwag (98 innings) and Sachin Tendulkar (103 innings).

Virat also has the highest average in the series so far. He has amassed 473 runs in 3 test matches in the series. His average in the series so far is a staggering 236.50.

If he goes on to score his triple ton tomorrow then that will be his first triple century. He has scored five double centuries but is yet to score a triple century. Fans will be hoping Virat to score his maiden triple century in test cricket on Sunday.
