Kolkata: The city of Joy will be hosting the FIFA Executive Council Meeting on October 27 just a day before the FIFA U17 grand finals. Along the top officials of the FIFA top delegates like FIFA President Gianni Infantino and representatives of each of the participating 24 countries would be present in this meeting.
A cultural programme would take place which will also be held by the FIFA council.
Earlier Reinstating the importance of India’s first FIFA Tournament, Project Director of the LOC, FIFA U17 World Cup India 2017, Joy Bhattacharjya today said that the tournament will inspire sporting fans across the country which will help contribute towards the growth of football in India. He also stated, “The event will open new horizons for the sponsors interested to invest on football in the country.”
Bhattacharjya also mentioned that The FIFA President Gianni Infantino too is also aware of the craze and excitement in India regarding the FIFA U17 World Cup, especially about the ticket sales in Kolkata.
Kolkata’s Yuva Bharati Stadium will be hosting a total of 10 matches. 6 home games, 1 pre-quarter, 1 quarter, 3rd place match and the finals.
