Like Shami, Kaif too travelled to Kolkata to make a career in cricket. The 27-year-old from Amroha, made his List A debut for Bengal against Jammu & Kashmir in 2021, displaying promising early career stats. Shami, played a pivotal role in Kaif's cricketing journey, offering guidance and encouragement. The brothers trained together during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown in their hometown of Sahaspur, providing Kaif a unique opportunity to refine his skills alongside an international player.

Despite going unsold in the IPL 2024 auction, Kaif's dedication to the sport and notable performances in domestic cricket have garnered attention. With 12 wickets in 9 List A matches, he showcases potential for further growth. Inspired by his elder brother's success, Kaif aspires to make his mark in the cricketing world.

Meanwhile Shami, is on his way to recovery from an injury that kept him out of India's tour to South Africa. He is expected to return to action for the five match test series against England starting in Hyderabad from January 25.
