Xtra Time Web Desk: Is there a need to look at the rules as bails did not gets dislodged yet again after hitting the stumps in the ongoing IPL 2022 season? The incident took place during the fourth ball of the 15th over bowled by Gujarat Titans leg spinner Rashid Khan to RCB batter Glenn Maxwell. The googly from Rashid lands on off and spins past Maxwell’s slog sweep. Rashid sees one of the zing bails on leg stump light up and runs off with his right arm and index finger raised in celebration before realizing that the bails have not completely dislodged as the ball goes to the fine leg rope for four byes.

This was the second occasion that the bails did not get dislodged after the ball hit the stumps. On previous occasion during the match between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals at DY Patil stadium, DC opener David Warner was beaten all ends up and bowled by Yuzuvendra Chahal. But surprising everyone the bails did not get dislodged. Replays did show the ball kissing the stumps as the light comes out but bails remained intact, which helped Warner survive.
