Maxwell heroics against Afghanistan being hailed as the greatest ODI knocks in run chase | CWC2023
Xtra Time Web Desk: Glenn Maxwell played of the greatest ODI innings of all time to help Australia beat Afghanistan by three wickets in the ICC Cricket ODI World Cup 2023 on Tuesday. It was a knock (201 off 128 balls) that epitomises courage and character as he braved cramps to pull off a sensational win against the Afghans at the Wankhede stadium.
It was mind blowing hitting from the Aussie cricketer, who smashed 21 fours and 10 sixes. He was involved in record breaking 202 runs partnership with captain Pat Cummins. Maxwell’s 201* is the highest score among the Aussies in ODIs, surpassing 185 runs by Shane Watson. The win see Australia seal a spot in the semi-final where they will face South Africa.
