Manchester United monitoring Ronaldo situation, agents claim he could genuinely leave

Xtra Time Web Desk: Cristiano Ronaldo could well be on his way out of Juventus in the summer, as Manchester United keenly monitor the situation, according to reports. The Portuguese player, widely considered to be one of the best to have ever played the game, after winning 5 Ballon d’Or awards throughout the course of his illustrious career thus far, scored 118 goals in 292 appearances in his previous stint with Manchester United. He then proceeded to seal a move to Real Madrid in 2009 for what was then a world record transfer fee.

The 36 year-old is currently playing for Juventus in Serie A, where he has continued his career-long trend of impressive performances, having bagged 29 goals in 33 league appearances. Ronaldo was brought in to the Italian club to ultimately win the Champions League but they have so far failed to do that, with the Old Lady even missing out on winning the Serie A this campaign. And now, certain media outlets claim that agents connected to Juventus insist Cristiano Ronaldo could genuinely leave Italy this summer, in a situation that staff at Old Trafford are monitoring.

Juventus are currently fifth in Serie A with one game left to try and secure a top-four finish and qualify for next season’s Champions League. Failure to do so would trigger Ronaldo’s plans to exist and even if they do manage to finish in the top four on the final day then ‘Ronaldo will consider his options’. Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is understood to be in touch with his former United team-mate and apparently would not hesitate to sanction the re-signing of the 36-year-old if the financials stack up.
