Manchester United beat Fulham to reclaim the top spot

XtraTime Web Desk – Another massive victory for Manchester United as they beat Fulham away from home.

Fulham who are in the relegation zone started strong. Ademola Lookman gave them the lead in the 4th minute of the match. He beat the offside trap which United defense prepared for him and scored an important goal for his team.

United fought back well. Bruno Fernandez was creating chances in the middle and Edinson Cavani took one of those chances in the 21st minute. Bruno’s low cross was kept out by Areola but the ball fell in front of Cavani, who made no mistake.

Paul Pogba scored a brilliant goal in the second half that gave United a 2-1 lead and they held that lead for the rest of the game and won the match. This win took United to the top of the table once again. They now have 40 points from 19 outings.

Their city rivals, Manchester City also managed a win against Aston Villa. Playing away from home, Villa has a good track record. Kyle Walker, City’s rightback suffered a blow and was replaced in the first half.

City kept it late as Bernado Silva gave Manchester City the lead in the 79th minute of the match. Ilkay Gundogan made it double in the 90th minute from a penalty kick as City won the match 2-0. Big plus point for the Citizens, is that they were able to keep a clean sheet once again. City are second in the table with 38 points from 18 games
