Kolkata: CAB has planned to get ready to present attractive Test matches by this September. President of CAB Sourav Ganguly today announced that several plans have been taken to make test match attractive. Meetings have also been conducted with Fort William authorities to take prior permission.

“We have taken few steps to make Test match attractive to cricket fans. Fort William authorities have also been informed and asked for prior permission to make changes happen. Hopefully everything will be done before the test match between India and New Zealand”, said Sourav Ganguly.

It has been planned that a bell similar to the bell of Lord’s will be introduced at Eden. The bell of Lord’s used to ring by any former cricketer on the opening day of any Test match. However, the bell of Eden will be rang everyday during a test match. Former players or running players will ring the bell.

Eden has a history of police band to march past on the first day of any Test match during the 60’s to 80’s. CAB wants to introduce the same now. They want the band to march past everyday during any test match.

CAB president Sourav Ganguly said, “For past few years supporters are losing interest on test cricket. However, test cricket has its glory intact. So to attract more cricket fans we have planned all these.”

To attract fans there has been plan to make fan canopy as there are canopies at Lord’s, Adelaide grounds. The giant screen will also be widened for better view also.
CAB has also planned previously to name a stand in memory of former CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya. They have already asked for prior permission from the Fort William authorities in this regard.

To drag more fans to the field during test match CAB has also planned to invite corporates to invest in test matches. They are going to introduce different tickets for corporates. There is also the plan to arrange small cricket during the lunch break of the matches. It may be introduced of 6 overs matches between corporate groups during lunch break, three over each for a group.

Also there is plan to introduce cricket match of children during lunch break. It will be organised with plastic wickets and tennis ball beside the main ground.

CAB is also going to implement a plan recommended by Lodha Committee to make test match attractive. There will be free tickets for school and college children. As per the recommendation of Lodha Committee there will be nearly 6000 tickets reserved for the students.
