Kolkata: Former cricketer and eminent commentator Arun Lal praised the leadership quality of Sourav Ganguly today. Attending the annual award ceremony of CAB he inspired the upcoming cricketers by the example of Sourav.
“Sourav Ganguly has a good vision. He had the leadership quality always. That quality is reflected at the administrative level”, said Arun Lal today. To inspire the uprising cricketers of Bengal he commanded, “Just start dreaming your dreams bigger. Don’t think
yourself extraordinary, but think that you can be an achiever and be a self-believer. Sachin and Sourav were self-believers.”
Today veteran Bengal cricketer Gopal Bose was awarded the Kartick Bose Lifetime Achievement Award. CAB president Sourav Ganguly awarded him the trophy. Getting the award he expressed, “Today I am overwhelmed. Got the best award of my life. I will remember this for the rest of my life. I will not say anymore as ahead of me the speaker was Sourav Ganguly. After his speech no words feel good. Like, after the song of Kishore Kumar nothing feels good.”
President of CAB today instructed the rising cricketers not to neglect hard work. He said, “Every year the Annual Ward is being given to felicitate year long toiling. The association is your own. Practice and play your best. And never neglect hard work.”
Apart from the Lifetime Achievement Award other awards were delivered to the present players. Captain of present Bengal team Sudip Chatterjee won the cricketer f the year award. Team member Pankaj Shaw won the gentleman cricketer of the year award. Ashoke Dinda was selected for the best bowler of the year award.
