Xtra Time Web Desk: Former England captain Nasser Hussain has expressed confidence in Virat Kohli's ability to perform under pressure as India faces South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. Both teams have been dominant throughout the tournament and are eager to claim the prestigious ICC title.

Despite India's unbeaten run, Kohli, in his sixth T20 World Cup, has struggled to deliver a match-winning performance. As India's top run-scorer since 2014, Kohli has only managed 71 runs in seven games, averaging 10.71. Nevertheless, he has the full support of his team, with captain Rohit Sharma affirming that he is saving his best for the final.

Hussain recalled Kohli's heroic knock against Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup, highlighting his knack for stepping up in big matches. "You go back to the game against Pakistan at the MCG, India were floundering. Who was there at the end? Smashing. He's always there in big matches," Hussain told Sky Sports.

Hussain advised Kohli to stick to his natural style of play. "Virat Kohli should bat like he's batted over the last decade. He's got a strike rate of 138. He can be the glue they all bat around. You cannot doubt him in a big match."

Hussain also noted the impact of the tricky New York pitch on Kohli's performance. "He needs time in the middle. In a big game, India will want Kohli," Hussain added.
