Ranji Trophy 2024-25: Virat Kohli prepares for Ranji return under Sanjay Bangar's guidance! Watch now
Xtra Time Web Desk: In preparation for his speculated Ranji Trophy comeback, Virat Kohli was spotted training in Mumbai under the watchful eye of former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar. Videos of Kohli practising with Bangar, who served as India’s batting coach between 2014 and 2018, quickly gained traction on social media on Saturday, January 25.
The practice session seemed focused on addressing Kohli’s recent struggles with deliveries on the off-stump line. This particular weakness was evident during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, where the senior batter was dismissed caught behind or in the slips on eight occasions out of nine innings. After a century in the opening Test at Perth, Kohli's form took a significant dip, which played a role in India's underwhelming performance in Australia.

Kohli is anticipated to make his Ranji Trophy return for Delhi in their final group-stage match against Railways, marking his first appearance in the tournament after nearly 12 years. His last Ranji outing was in 2012 against Uttar Pradesh, where he managed scores of 4 and 43 across two innings. While several Indian players participated in the sixth round of the Ranji Trophy, Kohli had opted out, citing a neck issue.
During the practice session, Kohli also took time to interact with young cricketers, signing autographs and posing for pictures, with videos of these moments circulating alongside his training clips.

As Kohli gears up for his Ranji return, fans eagerly await the veteran's performance, hoping he regains form ahead of crucial international assignments.
