Xtra Time Web Desk: Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has crossed England batter Harry Brook over his bizarre 'smog' excuse after failure in the first T20I in Kolkata.

After England’s dismal show in the first T20I, Harry Brook gave a bizarre reason for their poor performance saying that they couldn’t see the ball properly due to smog in Kolkata. To reply that, Ashwin denied and stated there was clear visibility in Chennai.

On his YouTube channel 'Ash Ki Baat', Ashwin stated, "There was no smog there in Chennai. Harry Brook had earlier stated that there was smog in Kolkata, so picking Varun Chakravarthy was difficult. I want to say one thing to Harry Brook: 'Please understand that Varun Chakravarthy doesn't bowl leg spin that much. It is googly".

Reflecting on Brook’s dismissal in the series so far, he stated "You moved to the leg stump and couldn't read the delivery, so you got bowled. Then you covered the stump and took a big stride, but couldn't read the googly, you got bowled again. No matter how the light is, if you are not reading the googly out of his hand, you are just not reading the delivery out of his hand,"

India and England will be action once more on Tuesday, January 28 at Niranjan Shah Stadium, Rajkot where India will aim to whitewash England with England getting a match in their favour.
