Virat Kohli took an extraordinary catch on Day 2 of the third Test against Australia in Brisbane on December 15 to dismiss Marnus Labuschagne. After a rain interrupted Day 1, Day 2 has witnessed a proper rivalry between bat and ball. Indian pacers were always on the top as Jasprit Bumrah picked up Australian openers early, Khawaja and McSweeny leaving the middle order to face India’s relentless pace attack.

Labuschagne also ound himself under pressure as Mohammed Siraj and Nitish Kumar Reddy tested him with precision deliveries.The defining moment came when Nitish Kumar Reddy induced an edge from Labuschagne’s bat, and Kohli, at slips, dived to his right to pull off a sensational catch.

Kohli and dramatic celebrations are nothing new, his celebrations just add fuel in the fire. Holding a finger to his lips, he gestured to the Gabba crowd to silence their jeers following his earlier exchange with the crowd, as Kohli had been vocal in defending his teammate Mohammed Siraj, who was booed by Australian fans while bowling.
