Xtra Time Web Desk: Nitish Reddy’s sister, Tejaswi, is undoubtedly a proud sibling after her brother’s heroics in the Boxing Day Test against Australia, which helped India fight until the end. On Saturday, December 28, Nitish etched his name in the history books as the first No.8 batter to smash a Test hundred at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, joining the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Rishabh Pant among the youngest Indians to score a Test century on Australian soil.

Reflecting on her brother’s achievement, Tejaswi said, “We share a Tom and Jerry kind of bond, but we love each other from inside. We don’t show it much, but we love each other. I am a very proud sister. He always used to say, ‘I will make you proud one day,’ and yesterday was that day.”

Who doesn’t know Tom and Jerry? The legendary animated franchise created by Joseph Barbera and William Hanna captures the playful, love-hate relationship between Jerry, a clever mouse, and Tom, a mischievous cat. Much like this iconic duo, sibling relationships often mirror this dynamic—a constant cycle of fights and unconditional support during the toughest times.

In a series where senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and others were expected to dominate the run charts but failed to deliver, it was Nitish Reddy who stepped up. As India’s top run-scorer in the series, he put the team in a fighting position, ensuring that the spotlight shone brightly on him.
