Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal found himself in an unusual predicament on Wednesday as the Team India bus departed for Adelaide airport without him. Scheduled to leave their hotel at 8:30 AM for a 10 AM flight to Brisbane, the team, led by captain Rohit Sharma and coach Gautam Gambhir, waited briefly for Jaiswal, who failed to arrive on time at the lobby. Despite being known for his punctuality, this delay was unexpected.

As time pressed on, Rohit Sharma reportedly stepped off the bus, instructing the support staff to locate Jaiswal. The team manager and security officer joined the effort but ultimately decided to proceed without him. About 20 minutes later, Jaiswal reached the hotel lobby only to find the bus had already left. However, a car arranged by the management, accompanied by a senior security officer, ensured he made it to the airport without further issues.

Team India has a reputation for strict discipline, with breaches often resulting in penalties. Past incidents involving players like Dinesh Karthik and even Rohit Sharma missing the team bus highlight that such situations are not unprecedented.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, traveling with their families, opted for a chartered flight to Brisbane the same day.

Jaiswal, who started the series with a match-winning 161 in Perth, has struggled in Adelaide, failing to score significantly in either innings. The third Test, beginning December 14 in Brisbane, presents him with an opportunity to bounce back as India looks to recover from their 10-wicket defeat in the pink-ball Test.

The team trained at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday, focusing on improving after their loss. The upcoming match will be crucial in their quest to regain control of the series.
