Bumrah is all set to play his 3rd BGT when he comes out for the opening Test match in Perth. Bumrah has always been a key player for India and has already picked up 32 wickets in Australia from just 7 Test matches. This time, he has to do a lot as the pacer might have to captain the side as well in the absence of Rohit Sharma.

Keeping the points table in mind, Bumrah has to step in and also make some serious contributions in the game. India have not included any of the two senior players in the Australia series who were the heroes in Australia earlier. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane both have both been sidelined from the Test team as it indicates India jumping for a transition after the World Test Championship Final in 2025.

Talking on this Cummins stated, "They (Rahane and Pujara) both scored some really important innings. It was always great playing against Pujara. He was one of those guys who never really felt like he was getting away from you. But then he would bat, and bat, and bat, and bat." He further added, "I always really enjoyed the contest against him. Some days he won, other days I won. So, it's going to feel a bit different without him."
