Xtra Time Web Desk: Subramaniam Badrinath, former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter, recently recounted a rare instance where MS Dhoni, known for his composed demeanor, showed visible frustration. Dhoni's ability to stay calm under pressure has earned him the moniker "Captain Cool," but this incident offers a rare glimpse into the other side of his leadership.

In an interview with InsideSports, Badrinath shared a surprising moment that occurred after CSK's low-scoring defeat to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Chasing a modest target of 110 at Chepauk, CSK faltered and lost wickets quickly, failing to secure the win. This unexpected loss brought out an uncharacteristic reaction from Dhoni.

Badrinath recalled, "In this match against RCB in Chennai, we were chasing 110 odd. We lost wickets in a hurry, and we ended up losing the match. It was one of those matches where we couldn’t get 110 against RCB in Chepauk."

The tension in the dressing room was palpable as Dhoni walked in, clearly upset. "I got out to a lap shot against Anil Kumble. I got myself LBW. He was coming inside the dressing room and I was standing right there, and there was a small water bottle in front of me and MS just kicked it out of the park, and I was oh my god! We were all trying to avoid eye contact with him in that dressing room," Badrinath added.

Though Dhoni is synonymous with calm leadership, this incident highlighted his deep investment in CSK's performance. His legendary connection with the franchise, which led to five IPL titles, remains as strong as ever, even as he played a crucial role in IPL 2024 after stepping down as captain.
