XtraTime Web Desk: Scrappy Barcelona managed to win 1-0 over Real Valladolid in a La Liga fixture at the Estadio Jose Zorrilla on Saturday night. Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal struck the only goal of the game in the 15th minute. The win keeps Barcelona in hunt for the La Liga title with 79 points from 36 games, a point behind leaders Real Madrid who is on 80 points having played a match less. This was the third consecutive win for the Catalans in the league since drawing against Celta Vigo and Atletico Madrid.
In another match Atletico Madrid boosted their bid to finish third in the table with a 1-0 victory over Real Betis at home. Diego Costa scored the winner for Atletico in the 76th minute of the match. Diego Simeone’s boys leapfrog Sevilla to move into the third place with 66 points from 36 games. Sevilla is on fourth spot with 63 points from 35 games.
