La Liga: Real Madrid’s disappointing performance costed them all three points

XtraTime Web Desk – Even after so many injuries, Real Madrid had played some beautiful football against Inter Milan and beat them at home on Wednesday. After such a performance, no Madridista could believe such horrifying performance from the Los Blancos.

Real Madrid gave away a penalty to Deportivo Alavés in the 5th minute of the match. The ball hit Nacho’s hand that gave away a penalty. This is the 5th time Real Madrid gave away a penalty in last 3 matches. Lucas Perez made no mistake and gave Alavés the lead very early in the game. Eden Hazard suffered another injury as he was replaced by Rodrygo in the 28th minute.

In the second half, a horrifying mistake from Thibaut Courtious killed Real Madrid’s momentum to some extent. The Belgian mistakenly passed the ball to Joselu, who didn’t make a mistake and gave Alavés a 2-0 lead over the defending champions. Real Madrid failed to create any real chances post that. The frustrating was seen on the pitch as someone like Toni Kroos was throwing the ball after giving away a foul.

Real Madrid however could manage a comeback when Casemiro pulled one back in the 86th minute of the match. In the dying minutes, Isco found a chance to equalise the match but he failed to convert as the ball bounced off the cross bar. Thus the match ended 2-1 in favour of Deportivo Alavés.

Real Madrid’s horrifying performance continues in La Liga as the defending champions could manage only 17 points from 10 games. They are currently at the 4th position in the La Liga table.
