Internet Desk: India’s star shuttler and Rio Olympics silver medalist PV Sindhu has secured her place in the semi-final of the Korea Open Super Series by beating Japan’s Minatsu Mitani in a tough three-game battle. She won the tie 21-19, 16-21, 21-10.

The first game between the two was every close as at one stage Sindhu was leading 11-9. After that both the shuttlers fought really hard and at one moment the score was 19-19, but Sindhu held her nerve well to win the game 21-19.

Everyone thought that it would be easy to win the second game for Sindhu but Mitani had other plans on her mind. Mitani took an early lead of 5-1 in the second game but Sindhu returned well in the game and took a lead of 11-9.  But Mitani increased her level in the game to win it 21-16 and leveled the game 1-1.

Though in the third and final game, Sindhu’s superior fitness helped her to snatch the match from the hands of Mitani.

In the final game Sindhu hammered Minatsu by her cross-court shots and forehand drives. The star Indian was leading 11-3 at the break, and gave her opponent no chance and took the game 21-10 and sealed the match in 1 hr and 3 minutes.
