Xtra Time Web Desk: Match day 20 of ongoing IPL 2022 season turned out to be a day for the Kuldeep’s. While Kuldeep Yadav grabbed 4 wickets for 35 runs in Delhi Capitals’ comprehensive 44 runs win over KKR, the other Kuldeep, who was making his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals defended 14 runs in his last over against Lucknow Super Giants.

Before making his IPL debut on Sunday night against Lucknow Super Giants, Kuldeep Rampal Sen played only 18 T20 matches in domestic circuit. But the fast bowler showed tremendous nerves as he restricted a rampaging Marcus Stoinis from taking Lucknow Super Giants home. With 14 to defend off the last over, Kuldeep bowled three dot balls against the Australian.

Kuldeep hails from Hariharpur in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district. His father Rampal Sen runs a small salon in the city. Kuldeep was initially spotted by local coaches. Third of the five siblings, Kuldeep started playing cricket at the age of eight. Even the academy he played for waived his fees so that he could pursue his dreams.

In his maiden first class season in 2018, Kuldeep had scalped 25 wickets including five wickets haul in an innings against Punjab. In 16 first-class matches so far, Kuldeep has bagged 44 wickets, while he has four List A scalps in his kitty. Since making his Twenty20 debut for Madhya Pradesh in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Kuldeep has grabbed 12 wickets from 18 outings.

Despite coming from a lower-middle-class family, Kuldeep has worked hard to come so far. His biggest strength is his outswingers, and because of his height, he can generate good bounce as well - which has helped him at the domestic level.

Let’s hope Kuldeep Sen can grab every possible opportunity he gets for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022 season.
