XtraTime Web Desk – After Yuvraj Singh and Herschelle Gibbs, Kieron Pollard became the third person to hit six sixes in a t20 game.

Based on Nissanka’s 39 and Dickwella’s 31, Sri Lanka reached 131 after 20 overs in the first innings. It was always going to be easy for West Indies. West Indies were 48 after 3rd over but things changed after that.

Akila Dhananjaya picked up a hat-trick dismissing Lewis, Chris Gayle and Nicolas Pooran. West Indies were put under pressure but they still had their captain Kieron Pollard in crease.

In the sixth over, Pollard hit six sixes of Akila Dhananjaya’s over and gave a fitting reply of his hat-trick. Pollard completely changed the game and West Indies finished the match within 14 overs.

Pollard in the post match conference stated that he thought of hitting six sixes after his third six. “couple of things went through my mind before the sixth ball – before the last ball, I thought should I go for the six or take the 30 runs in the over, he went around the wicket and bowled it onto my pads, I told myself ‘Wait Polly, take a chance’. That’s how I have played my cricket all along, especially against the spinners. Today was my day, unfortunate for him, but this was a good win for our team”.
