Internet Desk: Kerala Blasters has approached two times I League winning coach Ashley Westwood for the position of their new coach. Westwood is regarded as the most successful coach in recent times. According to sources the British coach is believed to be in talks with the Sachin Tendulkar owned franchise. Westwood is likely to replace Terry Phelan who replaced Peter Taylor mid way into the last season owing to poor performance.

Meanwhile the franchise is also likely to replace Trevor Morgan who was the assistant coach for last couple of seasons. Morgan, who was recently appointed the coach of East Bengal, is getting his contract with Blasters terminated by the end of May.

Having someone like Westwood as coach will help the Blasters to have a good season since he’s aware of the Indian condition and the players.

Westwood is also offered to get his contract extended by Bengaluru FC. The contract between Westwood and Bengaluru FC was till the end of this season. So, it will be interesting to see whether the British coach will prefer coaching an ISL club like Kerala Blasters or he will renew his contract with Bengaluru FC.
