Jos Buttler breaks record held by Virat Kohli; scores his third ton in IPL 2022
Xtra Time Web Desk : Jos Buttler hit his third hundred in the ongoing IPL 2022 season. Buttler scored 116 runs of just 65 balls as Rajasthan Royals posted 222/2 which is also the highest total of the season so far. Buttler hit 9 sixes and 9 fours in his explosive innings and along with Devdutt Padikkal (54 runs) added 155 runs for the first wicket.
Buttler has been in tremendous form in last few months. The England cricketer has now scored his fifth T20 hundred which includes the four tons he scored in his last 8 IPL innings. He broke the record of Virat Kohli, who had hit 4 hundreds from 9 IPL innings in IPL 2016.
After the fall of Buttler's wicket (116), RR skipper Sanju Samson gave a strong finish to the innings. Samson scored 46 runs off just 19 balls. His innings was studded with 5 boundaries and two sixes.
The Rajasthan batters dominated the DC bowlers throughout and took them to the cleaners after being asked to bat first by Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday.
