XtraTime Web Desk – Mumbai City FC once again dropped points and this time they lost to Jamshedpur FC 2-0. With this loss, their fate of finishing the league at the top of the table is not in their hand as if ATK Mohun Bagan manages to beat Hyderabad FC, then they will finish at the top of the table and more so will earn a spot in the AFC Champions League.

With Boumous suspended for two games, Mumbai City FC never looked to be in control of the match. Jamshedpur looked to be a much better team as they controlled the midfield most of the times. Neither team got a great opportunity to score but the red miners showed more intent in the first half.

Jackichand Singh who didn’t contribute much in the first half was replaced by Bipin Singh and not much changed for Mumbai City. It’s Jamshedpur who got the important goal in the 72nd minute. Boris Singh Thangjam got the ball just in front of the line as he finished it calmly to put Jamshedpur into the lead.

David Grande sealed the deal in the 91st minute and with that Mumbai City FC has dropped points once again. They were much ahead of ATK Mohun Bagan at the points table few weeks back but after some poor performances, they have nothing to do but to wait and see if the Mariners drop any points.

Mumbai remained on 38 points from 18 games and are 2nd in the table while Jamshedpur moved up to 6th in the table with 24 points from 19 games.
