ISL: SC East Bengal told by FSDL to set the house in order or face the axe next season

Xtra Time Web Desk: Kolkata giants SC East Bengal are staring at a possible axe from the forthcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season if they do not sort out there in house problems with investors Shree Cement. There is increasing pressure on the club officials to sign the final agreement with investor Shree Cement.

A meeting was held between the ISL clubs and Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) on Wednesday. SC East Bengal was not supposed to attend the meeting but CEO Shivaji Samaddar was present following a request from FSDL.

“If the impasse continues then SC East Bengal will not be a part of ISL VIII,” a representative, who spoke on behalf of Shree Cement, said.

“The onus is on our investor to do the needful,” club official Debabrata Sarkar said.

Meanwhile, some former East Bengal captains led by Sumit Mukherjee, Manoranjan Bhattacharya and Gautam Sarkar have already taken an initiative to mediate between the two parties – East Bengal officials and Shree Cement top authorities.
