Internet Desk: Indian Super League (ISL) franchise FC Pune City are in advance talks with former Barcelona player Josep María Comadevall Crous (Pitu) for the upcoming season of the high-profile league.

The outfit, which has roped in former Atletico de Kolkata gaffer Antonio Lopez Habas as its new head coach, have been on a signing spree and have already completed their domestic signings. The Orange Army will have the likes of  Apoula Edel, Bruno Arias, Narayan Das, Sanju Pradhan, Vishal Kaith, Arata Izumi, Francis Fernandes and Rahul Bheke on their rosters among others.

Pitu, who had played only one league match for the Spanish giants after graduating from the academy and has played for Spanish outfits like Girona FC and Las Palmas later in his career. Playing for UE Llagostera, the midfielder has made a total of 145 league appearances in the lower divisions of Spanish football in the last four seasons, including 39 appearances in the last edition. FC Pune City already have three central midfielders – Lenny Rodrigues, Eugeneson Lyngdoh and Arata Izumi in their squad.

Pitu is the third La Masia product who will ply his trade in the ISL, after Jofre Mateu (FC Goa and Atletico de Kolkata) and Josué Currais Prieto (Kerala Blasters).

According to CEO, Gaurav Modwel, ” We are in positive talks with Pitu. But the deal is not yet finalised but hope to be done soon. Actually we are also trying out some other players too in that position.”

Meanwhile, Pitu has also posted on his twitter account about the confirmation of his signing.
