Xtra Time Web Desk : It was a staggering night at the GMC Athletic Stadium, Goa as SC East Bengal and Hyderabad FC shared the spoils in 1-1 draw. The Red and Gold are yet to register a win this season after suffering their fourth draw in season eight of the ISL.


For SC East Bengal it was Amir Dervisevic who marked his name in the scoresheet, while this season’s current golden boot leader Bartholomew Ogbeche took up the job to equalize for Hyderabad FC.


At the start of the first East Bengal looked full of confidence as they ran with the ball mostly in the field, while the Nizams struggled to hold back the Red and Gold attacks. Following which, East Bengal opened the scoring of the game at 20th minute. The Red and Gold were awarded a freekick near the penalty box which was taken by Amir Dervisevic who struck a beautiful shot going above the Hyderabad wall and the Nizams goalkeeper made a poor save which led to a goal.


Falling behind in the scoreline, Hyderabad started to make quick counter-attacks by keeping more possession of the ball. Later in the 35th minute, a beautiful cross by Ankit Jadhav from the left-wing landed in Ogbeche’s head which the Nigerian put into the goal. That’s was all the first half action.


Returning for the second half, Hyderabad FC looked like a team with a plan as they kept pushing harder to score a goal, but it was a staggering night for the Nizams players as they couldn’t get past the East Bengal defense. While both the sides got some serious chances to score a goal but failed to grab the opportunity. The best chance came at the last second of the game for Hyderabad as the ball from the corner landed on Ogbeche’s which connected well but failed to go past the Red and Gold goalkeeper. Following which he game ended with a 1-1 scoreline.


In the next fixture SC East Bengal will be playing against Bengaluru FC, while Hyderabad FC will be locking horns against Odisha FC.
