Xtra Time Web Desk : ATK Mohun Bagan on Thursday locked horns against defending champions Mumbai City FC in a gigantic clash in the Indian Super League. The match between the two finalists of last year ended in a nail biting 1-1 draw.

The Mariners in the first half took the lead at the 9 minute mark, courtesy of a goal from star striker David Williams. Their lead however didn't remain for too long as Mumbai City FC scored the equaliser on the 14th minute through an unfortunate Pritam Kotal own goal from Bipin's cross. The first half although didn't have any more goals, despite both teams playing attacking football.

The second half eventually saw both the teams play more and more attacking football through end to end stuff. Shots came flying from both corners. But, as the match went on, the Mariners took control of the game as their midfield duo of Hugo Boumos and Jonny Kauko pulled the strings for the side from Kolkata.

Mumbai on the other hand however, had their chances to score but were stopped by the Mariners' defense, especially by the Man of the Match, Tiri. At the dying moments of the game, Juan Ferrando played his last card for the day as he brought in Kolkata Derby's hatttick hero, Kiyan Nassiri as an attacking substitution.

But the youngster however wasn't able to score a goal today, which ended the match in a 1-1 draw as both teams clinched a point each from this Titanic clash.

ATK Mohun Bagan next face Kerala Blasters in their next match on February 8.
