Xtra Time Web Desk : ATK Mohun Bagan continued their poor streak as they settled for one point a piece against Chennaiyin FC in ongoing Indian Super League (ISL 2021-22) season on Saturday. Following the 1-1 draw between the two sides, the Mariners have now only collected one point in their last three games, while Chennaiyin still remains the only club without a defeat this season.

ATK Mohun Bagan took the lead in the 18th minute through Liston Colaco. Vladimir Koman equalized for Chennaiyin FC in the 45th minute.

It was the Mariners who took charge of the game in the early minutes but were soon challenged by Chennaiyin defence. However despite lagging out in the attack, it was ATK Mohun Bagan who opened the scoring. Roy Krishna played out a through ball from the midfield which stunned the Chennaiyin defence, but was collected by Liston who put a power shot into the opposition goal in the 18th minute.

Chennaiyin learning from their mistakes took full charge of the game as they continuously knocked at the ATK defence, but failed to equal the score despite getting couple of clear chances. However, just before the half time, Vladimir Koman made it 1-1 in the scoreboard as ATK defence failed to clear a throw landing at Koman’s feet which the midfielder had put in beautifully in the bottom corner.


Returning for the second half both team looked fierce as both played with continues attack, but later it was Chennaiyin who again kept hold of the ball with Anirudh Thapa, Vladimir Koman and Lallianzuala Chhangte playing the most for the Marina Machans.


While ATK’s front three consisting of Roy Krishna, Manvir Singh and Liston Colaco were kept quite in the second half by the Chennaiyin defence. Despite being the better team and getting several chances Chennaiyin failed to grab a win against ATK Mohun Bagan as the final whistle was blow with the socreline being 1-1.


In the next fixture the Mariners will be facing Bengaluru FC, while Chennaiyin will be taking on table toppers, Mumbai City FC.
