Kolkata: East Bengal club's hopes of playing in the Indian Super League this season is almost over, but it's officials are still hopeful that the Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) will hear their plea and give some more time to confirm their investor which will help them to play the top tier league of India. For that reason the East Bengal Club has sent a letter to FSDL.

In the letter, the club has written,"In this COVID-19 pandemic situation we are facing a lot of financial problems but the club is desperate to play the Indian Super League. That's why we are trying our best to confirm an investor as soon as possible. We are hopeful that we can give you a confirmation on our new investor in next one or two weeks time. So we can only request you to reconsider your decision and plan the next season of ISL with East Bengal in it. The club is trying it's level best to grab a new investor and we are in advanced talks with a few renowned companies and the deal will get finalize very soon."
