Kolkata: Kolkata giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan are preparing themselves to take part in next season’s Indian Super League. Ahead of that last season’s ISL side Chennaiyin FC’s co-owner and Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan feels that both the Kolkata clubs have rich legacy and he will open handedly welcome both the teams next season.

“We all know that both the clubs have rich legacy, beside that they have a fan base throughout the world. If the two sides take part in next season’s ISL, I will be the first person to welcome them. I think if East Bengal and Mohun Bagan come in this league the league will get more promotions what it is getting right now,” said Abhishek while speaking to the media.

Last year the tournament saw a low as most of the grounds were empty during the matches, but in this season there was a mass crowd attended the first game at the Salt Lake Stadium which was 37,253. On being asked about the matter Abhishek Bachchan added,” Look it’s good to see that a huge number of fans came here to watch the game tonight. A lot of people are saying that people didn’t go to the stadium to watch ISL matches but I think it’s wrong. If you remember last season all the matches in Kerala and Chennai were full houses and in the inaugural match here in Kolkata we have seen the fans came in numbers. The more the tournament goes I believe that more people will come to the stadium.”
