ISL 2018/19: Find out how ATK repeats ‘Johnny Acosta calamity’ in the opening press conference

Kolkata:
In about a month back Indian football fraternity offered strict criticism for I-League giant Quess East Bengal FC  for an entire mismanagement in introducing Costa Rican world cupper Johnny Acosta as the there was no interpreter for him on behalf of the club in the press conference to help him communicate with the media. The club had to recall the press conference on another day to solve the issue.

People questioned the professionalism of the club and the media too heavily criticized the Red and Gold officials for that. A month has gone and this time two times’ ISL champion ATK repeats the same ‘unprofessional’ gesture in the first pre-match press conference of the new ISL season.

In the press conference, ATK sent their new forward Everton Santos in the pre-match press meet. But the moment he was asked a question, he started getting embarrassed and made it clear that he needs an interpreter to answer.

Head Coach Steve Coppell then interfered and begged pardon for the mismanagement. He said, “I’m sorry for this. Please don’t blame the player. It’s not his fault. Unfortunately, there is no interpreter here who can translate his Portuguese. apologies from my end. He can understand English but he cannot speak.”

No doubt, the incident once again appeared to be an example of the deplorable standard of the ATK media co-ordinator.
