Ishant Sharma shines as Delhi beat Andhra Pradesh in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

XtraTime Web Desk – Back from injury, Ishant Sharma is proving that he’s now ready to take on any challenge. The boy from Delhi suffered a blow during IPL and that ruled him out of the Australian tour but with England series coming up, he looks ready and gunning.

Delhi faced Andhra Pradesh in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Ishant Sharma picked 2 wickets giving away just 17 runs in his 4. His teammate, Pradeep Sangwan picked 3 as Andhra managed to score 124 runs after 20 overs. Rayudu failed to make a mark as the veteran was dismissed for just 1 run.

Shikhar Dhawan got out early as the left hander contributed just 5. Nitish Rana scored 27 while Anuj Rawat and Himmat Singh scored 33 and 32 respectively. With the help of their contribution, Delhi beat Andhra Pradesh by 6 wickets. With 2 wins under their belt, Delhi are now at the top of their group with 8 points from 2 games.

In other matches, Tamil Nadu beat Assam by 10 wickets. N. Jagadeesan scored 78 while Sai Kishore, Murugan Ashwin and M Mohammed picked 2 wickets each.

Saurashtra scored a mammoth total of 233 runs in 20 overs. Avi Barot scored 99 of 44 balls and Prerak Mankad scored 59 of 26 balls. Prerak was a star with the ball as well as he picked up 4 wickets giving away 48 runs in his 4. Chetan Sakariya picked up 5 giving away just 11 runs in his 4. With their brilliance, Saurashtra beat Vidarbha by 79 runs.
