Xtra Time Web Desk: Is Shikhar Dhawan’s T20 future for India in doubts under Rahul Dravid? The left hander does not seem to feature in Team India Head Coach Rahul Dravid’s scheme as far as T20 format is concerned. Dhawan, who was left out from the 18 members Indian T20 squad for the upcoming series against South Africa was personally called by Dravid and informed about his plans going forward.

What is the inside story and is it actually true?

Ahead of BCCI selection meeting on Sunday, Rahul Dravid, selectors and captain Rohit Sharma discussed the potential candidates. Dravid informed the selectors in the presence of BCCI secretary Jay Shah that the team should move on and look at youngsters with the T20 World Cup being held in a few months from now.

The Head Coach of Indian team personally called Dhawan informing him that the team will look at youngsters in T20s instead of him.

For Dhawan though, it must be shocking to know about the plans of the team management in T20 format. Barring his age, Dhawan has done everything he can to be in India’s T20 squad. He has been a consistent performer in IPL, having scored 400+ runs for seven consecutive seasons. In the ongoing IPL season as well Dhawan is the leading run scorer for Punjab Kings with 460 runs from 14 games.
