Xtra Time Web Desk : The Indian Premier League (IPL), which is also the most popular franchise cricket league in the world has been attracting millions of spectators since it's inception in 2008.

And in it's journey through to the pinnacle of world cricket, the media partners have also replaced one another.

The Sony Network which previously had the tournament's media rights from it's commencement till 2017, was replaced by Star Sports group back in 2018.

Now as Start Sports' 5 year contract with the Indian Premier League comes towards it's end, some big shot multinational media houses are in line to take claim the media rights.

And according to reports, Sony, Star, Reliance and Amazon are in for the much awaited lucrative deal, which is expected to generate a review of around INR 30,000 crore.

Thus, with the media rights of the IPL standing in an interesting juncture, it would be intriguing to see how it finally turns out to be.
