IPL 2023: Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly shake hands, puts an end to controversy

Xtra Time Web Desk: Royal Challengers Bangalore star batter Virat Kohli and Delhi Capitals Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly decided to shake hands after the IPL 2023 game on Saturday. The handshake was the topic of controversy the last time these two teams faced each other as both did not greet each other after the game. Reports also suggested that the duo unfollowed each other on Instagram following the incident. However, that was not the case after DC’s win on Saturday as the two legends shook hands and even spoke to each other briefly at the end of the encounter, putting an end to the controversy.

The fans were eager to see if the two former India captains shake hands after the game or not. They not only shook hands, Ganguly even applauded Kohli for his fifty and gave him a pat on the shoulder.

There was a bit of a controversy when Kohli and Ganguly avoided shaking hands with each other after the previous meeting between the two sides at the Chinnaswamy stadium. Virat also gave a cold stare to Ganguly seated in the dug-out.

The relationship between the Ganguly and Kohli worsened surrounding the captaincy saga. It was during Ganguly’s tenure as the BCCI president when Kohli lost his ODI captaincy. He left T20I and Test captaincy in the 2021/22 season.
