IPL 2023: Jaydev Unadkat to miss remainder of the league due to left-shoulder injury | Report

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India left arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2023 due to an injury he suffered in his left shoulder while training recently. According to a report in ESPNCricinfo, the Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler is expected to be fit ahead of the World Test Championship Final against Australia starting at the Oval in June.

Unadkat injured himself in a bizzare fashion as his left foot got stuck in the rope that keeps the net up as he was about to deliver the ball. He fell awkwardly on the practice wicket and was seen immediately clutching his left shoulder in pain. He was immediately rushed out of the practice arena. The LSG physio was applying ice-packs on his shoulder.

It is learnt that Unadkat recently travelled to Mumbai for scans and visited one of the specialist consultants appointed by the BCCI. In consultation with BCCI medical staff, LSG decided to withdraw Unadkat from the ongoing IPL 2023. The Saurashtra pacer will now visit the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for rehab to get fit to travel to England for the WTC final.

Unadkat is among the five pacers picked in the Indian squad for WTC Final. The others are Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav and allrounder Shardul Thakur.
