IPL 2023: Half centuries from Padikkal and Jaiswal helps RR beat PBKS by 4 wickets to stay in the race for Playoffs

Xtra Time Web Desk: Half centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal (50 off 36) and Devdutt Padikkal (51 off 30) helped Rajasthan Royals to beat Punjab Kings by 4 wickets with two balls to spare to stay in the race for IPL 2023 Play Offs. Shimron Hetmyer played a cameo (46 off 28) towards the end 46 and impact substitute Dhruv Jurel (10 not out) sealed the win for Royals with a six off Rahul Chahar. The loss for Punjab Kings meant their IPL 2023 campaign comes to an end.

Earlier, batting first Punjab posted a competitive 187 for five after being sent in. PBKS lost wickets at regular intervals to slide to 50 for 4 in the seventh over before Sam Curran (49* off 31) and Jitesh Sharma (44 off 28) added 64 runs for the fifth wicket to give some momentum to the innings. Shahrukh Khan also made valuable 41 off 23 balls. Navdeep Saini (3/40) was the pick of the bowlers for RR, while Adam Zampa (1/26) and Trent Boult (1/35) picked up a wicket each.

It has been one of those games were the Rajasthan tried their best to lose it however, they got over the line somehow at the end because of some ordinary fielding and catch misses.
